Kakashi destroyed Kakuzu's Earth Based Heart. Leaving him Lightning, Wind, Fire, and Water. The heart that Hidan destroyed was the Water one. Kakuzu was using the water heart as his own, proven when Shikamaru used the water technique and Kakuzu melted into the water and reappeared elsewhere, after being hit with the lightning attack.

Great Episode btw, Hidan cracks me up. Kakuzu wasn't that great.

If u remember back to the early early episodes, naruto was about to kill haku when haku took kakashis chidori for Zabuza, so i think this is Narutos first direct kill.

did anyone else notice naruto's eyes? they are kyuubi but not red. I think thats a symbol for something ^_^

Actually, Naruto did kill Aoi in the Tea Country arc, and presumably the leader of the Ninja Dropouts that Gantetsu was a member of (third to last filler) and has several more kills if you count the movies (Dotou in the first one, Haido in the second, Shabadaba in the third, and also the guy who took over the Waterfall Village in the OVA).

ur both wrong, Kakashi Sensai took out Water with Raikiri aka Chidori, and den Shikamaru forced Hidan to kill the Earth mask, which killed Kakuzu, den de lightning mask was not killed it just absorbed into Kakuzu, so kakuzu was the lightning element afterwards, and THEN he absorbed the fire and wind. Which Naruto eliminated ALL 3 with Rasen-Shuriken.

dont u remember when kakashi was being attacked kakuzu used lightning on choji and Ino and kakashi stepped in and absorbed it? then hidan took out the lightning heart, and the fire and wind heart merged with kakuzu and attacked them, thats when naruto stepped in

honestly i think that the hokage should just make him a chunin he's obviously far stronger that your average shinobi

I think kakashi got a water masked beast with raikiri, and the earth elemental heart was finished with hidan curse ^^.

Guess by "new" naruto they meant he finally killed someone >.> Before now, I don't think he's ever actually killed an enemy...They've either been knocked out and tied up, magically survived, he gets incapicitated as well, someone comes in at the last second and kills them for him, or he lets them live...

i'm sorry but that is wrong, the chidori that kakashi used killed the heart that controlled water :)

well you are right that kakashi killed one of Kakuzu's hearts BUT it wasn't the heart the controlled earth, it was the heart that controlled water. When Hidan stabbed himself in the forest with Shikamaru, that's when Kakuzu's earth heart was destroyed. hope that helps :)

That attack is freaking awesome, but hurts Naruto as well. He complains to Jiraiya later that it uses too much Chakra and hurts him too. It would make too mich sense for Naruto to make a weaker version of the attack, less wind chakra maybe.

u said that kakuzu was not able to harden his body because kakashi olredy killed the heart of the earth affinity,,,but why does kakuzu able to harden his hands when he was going to kill choji????/pls answer....

That would be awesome of Kakuzu to do, but Kakashi killed his monster heart with the earth affinity. So, unless Hidan's original body has a knack for the earth element, he couldn't use the body hardening technique ever since the Raikiri attack.

That technique probably requires a natural inclination to earth element, He lost that at the beggining of the battle.

regarding to the question why kakuzu didnt use the jutsu of hardening his body against narutos new technique is because his heart having the earth innate was olready killed by kakashi.. so he cant use that jutsu anymore...

If I'm not mistaken, Naruto's eyes have looked like that in the past. Seems to me that they become human/fox eyes when he does serious growing skill wise and maturity wise.

I think its cool that Naruto is finally starting to suck a little bit less seeing as how the show revolves around him, but I still kind of annoys me that his only moves revolve around Kage Buushin or Rasengan. Seriously can he not learn another move? He is displayed as a character with perhaps the highest amount of chakra so far yet all it is really good for is making tons of shadow clones that are for the most part ineffective except to do his nature and shape manipulation for him, and to be a "distraction." The other problem I had with this episode as some people pointed out was that Kakazu was a very powerful character, why is it that he suddenly became a complete weakling. He did not use his body solidification, and he didnt use any ninjutsu to help counter Naruto's fighting style. And I know that not every character can have taijutsu related gifts or else it kind of makes them worthless, but seriously? If there are 5 Naruto's fighting one opponent, they should not be able to easily defend all his attacks unless he honestly has no combat ability, which is sort of pathetic seeing as how all his moves, pretty much rasengan because its his only move, is up close. I think Jiraya teaching him the summoning jutsu was the only thing really that gave him at least a little more move selection. I just think he should learn something like a wind wall, or a wind sword, or slash similar to the little tease we see of Baki's powers. Sorry for jumping back and forth but yeah that's what I think.
