Harigana and Katakana are used for daily language, why do people learn kanji?

Mainly names and other nouns, usually they function as ideograms and represent theme or meanings where one symbol can represent a word or even a sentance, like Kanji's for Gamble, Alcohol, sun, oil, moon, Tokyo Etc

They are used in newspapers alot so most Japanese learn the 'day to day' Kanji

for us, non native japanese learners may find kanji to be intimidating hehe

some of the kanji characters can mean moer than one.

like

kanji: 金, Romaji: kin, hiragana: きん. Means gold or friday. but there's more i bet.

I use Opera so it's easy for me to zoom in. I just press + multiple times and it enlarges the font nicely. It's how I could see the arabic symbols while learning it.
