There really has to be some better protection against bots. maybe an introduction should be required, any member with more than 250 post could approve. somehow I doubt that any of these recent post were made by humans.

No, the bots are likely human... Which is why they can get past the security.

People don't seem to be aware that bots can also be human, but bloody hell, seriously, where's an admin when you need them?

I'd clean it up, but I'm quite sick of it right now. So I'd rather wait for the upgrades, so that I can test it out.

Then consider it a back up plan. cwed611857 would have a hard time being approved even if it was human. Seeing all the spam might discourage lurkers from joining, so requiring an introduction might actually increase membership.

great idea. i think we should give it a try... we have enough active members to approve of new users, i think.

it wouldn't be that hard to tell if the users were spammers, too, and if they are, we can just not accept them, right?
