i have no problem with a dictatorship look at china and well actually if thats the best one thats fairly crappy
im canadian but im certainly more liberal im part of the APC The Akatsuki Party of Canada
I'm actually neither, I'm a liberal/social democrat! But politics is a really deep subject, and dividing it into A) Republican or B) Democrat is a wee bit too simplistic in my mind! I mean, there's communism, anarchy, democracy, theocratic states, republics, monarchy with sub-divisions like a constitutional monarchy or democratic monarchies.
To me though, at the moment, it's not that big of a difference between the democrats and the republicans. It's sort of like coke, and coke zero. Personally I prefer the one that doesn't stand in the way of science and secular humanism, so I'm siding with the democrats. I have to say though, I think for the most part the modern republicans have been taking the world backwards into the past as opposed to what they were doing 30-70 years ago. Republicans used to kick buttox. It's like democrats shifted to what republicans stood for 50 years ago, and republicans have become too right wing for their own good!

China is a communist country, it doesn't work under a dictatorship system...
Republicans are way too conservative, definitely not sharing their ideals. The question is 'are the democrats that liberal?' I consider myself a liberal, socialist, like Caboose.
Well...this is a very controversial topic since most of the time people end up arguing (at least here in PR)
I'm a democrat, we can't vote in the elections in the US but we can be part of the Democrats or Republicans and we live under a democratic system.
Now that China was mentioned (and their Communist goverment) I'll like to point something, since I dont know much about China, I'll explain myself with Cuba. Cuba is a communist country and look at them is like they are living under a dictatorship system, their living conditions are horrible.
There are many types of goverment like: Anarchy, Authoritarianism, Confederation, Democracy, Fascism, Dictatorship, Tyranny(I dont think there exist Tyranny anymore but there are governors that act like tyrants), Monarchy, Republic, Socialist, Tribal, Totalitarism, to name a few. In my opinion some are wrong others ok, other good and yes this thread leaves a lot of people out.
