His song Stronger is pretty neat because it uses another artist's song, but has irony in that during the song he's rapping about how nobody makes their own stuff anymore, and saying he doesn't care what people say about this one. Very unique indeed. (not sarcasm btw)

HMM seeing as how hypa told me to come here guess i cant refuse so here's my sage like wisdom on the subject....i feel like everyone has the right to have their own opinion however when voicing your opinion i would ask that you dont just state your disdain for the genre by saying that "i noe we all could agree that...." because the fact of the matter is that for every "one" person that doesnt like rap there's atleast 100 more that do plain and simple...now i cant speak on behalf of everyone that raps however i noe that the concensus is that people rap becuz they noe that music is a very profitable industry and rappers do in fact make alot of LEGAL money so thats what attracts people to rap esp. since you dont have to be blessed with a special voice to rap vs. how n rnb if u have a horrible sounding voice u cant b a singer...now i agree that a lot of crap is going on in rap but i cannot hate on it becuz there wouldnt be any of this so called "crappy music" being put on the airwaves if people weren't paying to hear it PLAIN AND SIMPLE so in essence u cant hate the genre becuz of the music u hear becuz hip hop is a genre that is majorly influenced by the listeners....if it doesnt make money its not worth making is the mindset of rappers esp. since hip hop is a genre that is populated by people (like myself) who were born into a less then satisfactory way of life to say the least and hip hop is a way out of that way of life becuz of the money to be made..

to sum it up if you dont like hip hop music that's fine but dont say that its crappy music or that its not worth listening to or that the rap artist use words that are offensive and that's why the genre isn't worth listening to becuz the only reason why rap artist continue to make this kind of music is becuz millions of people are paying them to hear that kind of music so if u dont like the music demand different music from the artist dont just say its crap

(for everyone's information rap and hiphop are NOT two different genre's rapping is the art and hip hop is in fact the culture that imbraces those who rap...in a sense hip hop is the genre but rapping is what the artist in the genre do..the same thing as in rnb or pop those are the names of the genre however the artist dont make music by rnbing or popping they "sing")

edit: i didnt proof read this cuz im in a hurry so sorry if i was repeating things or sorry if my thoughts werent all lined up neaty for you will go back through it later

And I just kinda hate that. lol.
It’s like that towards almost everything.
On one hand you have the people who just accept what the media tells them.
And on the other hand you have people who are actually bothered to search things up and form opinions of their own.
I personally don’t like the mainstream hip hop.
Its kind off stereotyped for black people to like hip hop and rap and unfortunately people (sometimes) adhere to it. Music shouldn’t be based on race.
I think 50 cent type of rap is completely GAY because of the derogatory vocab (especially towards women) and I think it’s especially disgusting when girls accept it.
But on the other hand I'm a big fan of Talib kweli and Outlandish.
It completely depends on what type of hip hop/rap you’re talking about.

Ps. I’m totally exited cuz me and my mates are forming a rock band

True. Sadly true.

However, there's surprisingly a large amount of rappers that don't rap about that stuff.

In the mainstream, you'll probably mostly here that.

But it's like when people say you don't see anything good on TV. That's not true, you just have to look

Styles of beyond are AMAZING dude. I'm getting into their discography and they are one of the best groups ever. Also love how it's a black and white guy.

UNITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

And I first heard them from Fort Minor too. Mike shinoda's one of my favorite artists and The Rising Tied is a GREAT album.

As for the different languages, I doubt I'd wanna listen to another language, especially since hip-hop is more lyrically based than probably any other genre(Since they aren't singing)

Well even though he samples Daft Punk, it doesn't exactly sound like the original. His version is alot more, i guess "dance/bob your head friendly".
And I know from recent experience, that even when you SAMPLE a song...it can be incredibly difficult to make it into a good sounding hip-hop beat.

For example he recently sampled a song called "Day by Day" by an old school singer by the name of Eddie kendricks.

Now that sample was extremely easy. I even tried to recreate it and did it perfectly.

Now this song by Michael Jackson

Was sampled on this beat

You can probably easily identify the sample at like 0:31, but he had a few other samples in this song, and I could never recreate something like this.

Also in Stronger, Kanye said

I ask, cuz I'm that sure/
Does anybody make real sh*t anymore?/

Probably meaning, most artists aren't as creative as he is, or don't make song with any content like he does.

Nice elaboration sir. However I disagree on the part with them making money. They don't really have any excuse for making garbage music.

Several years ago you might say "I have to act and talk gangster to be popular"

But people like Common and kanye are immensely popular without doing that. In fact I wasn't even allowed to listen to Pac and Eminem and them because of all the cussing and topics and I was/am in a STRICT Christian kinda household.

If Lupe Fiasco can go gold rapping about Skateboarding and imaginary robots, why can't everyone else?

But then again, this happens because labels don't care about the music, they just want to make money. So they find any wack bozo on the street who they THINK will appeal to the average fans(dumb/easily influenced urban kids) and have them make music. So they are more to blame than anyone.

I, started writing/rapping, not because I wanted to make money, or because I wanted to be famous. But because I love hip-hop. And being inspired by the likes of Lupe & kanye & common more than anyone(And being from chicago as well hehe), I not only do it for fun, but for a purpose.

true true bt about the lupe going gold stuff...his going gold vs all the 11 million records 50's first album sold...or jeezy's first album which i believe went platinum iono if his second did or not or wutever..ne way all the platinum jay-z albums or the 5 mill the game sold on his first...and his 2nd sold more then lupe as well...or how bout snoop who never evn seen gold all plat..dunno bout his last album...and dont forget t.i. or jadakiss..or slim thug who went platinum b4 his album evn was put out majorly...and that's not all....basically wut i was saying was that most rappers will lean towards what makes them the most money lik lil wayne who just sold HELLA evn tho i wouldnt evn burn his album cuz he garabage to me..but yea ppl lik common...mos def...talib...lupe...and kayne..they are good at what they do but i mean what sells is what sells....not saying that all the others rappers are justified by making what they make but what they make tends to garner more funds then the type of music lupe makes...evn tho lupe was just on a song with pharell talkin about girls who sniff cocain in the bathroom at clubs...which to me can be taken as he is lookin to spread out in a way that will get him paid more basically...or how kayne was on a game song that basically was talkin about how video girls all have sex with rappers so they can get to go places n be vip...or his song cant tell me nothin basically just talkin about makin money...yea he's a very conscious rapper but he's just taking a very clever angle to appeal to the people that want to listen to that type of music without running the risk of just sounding like everybody else bt he's still talkin bout the same stuff on some songs atleast so those two arnt really that different if u really listen to what they rap about

(the song lupe is featured on that im talking about is that song that goes "all the girls standing in the line for the bathroom!"..and the song kayne was on is called wouldnt get far)

now of course i respect the fact that u say ur doing music for the love of it which i love it too...but the truth is i dont care about being famous but i wouldnt care to much about making music if there wasnt a chance that i could paid for doing it and thats the simple truth cuz i bet every person who says that they make music for the love and not the money would not dare turn down a paycheck if offered and you noe im rite...at the end of the day no matter what type of music u make no matter music genre you are in...making music is a JOB

and that's the only problem i have with people that say they hate a certain genre becuz they dont like the sound thats being made...its ok if u dont like bt dont bash someone thats doing their job becuz u dnt go around bashing people that do construction evn tho if a construction job is going on near ur home ud hate the noise being made bt u dnt bash them bcuz u noe that they are doing honest work and thats what musicians do...i cant stand metal or techno or trance or house or even classical for that matter but i dont go around saying i hate it cuz i noe at the end of the day weither they love what they do or not they are just working to make a life for themselves

yea its because again...what is tht song about.....money...a gold digger woman....talk about rappin' bout something that sumone can't relate to...yea only the mega rich could..

Plus another reason is...personally I just dont like this funk/pop/hiphop/trance mash....eurgh... I love the old school west coast beats cos they bump the sh*t!!
Kanye is the best example of positive hip hop...don't get me wrong but hes just fallin into another niche that is modern/censored hiphop. All those other guys like 50cent are really laughable...nothin but a mouth and talkin rubbish all the time..its retarded

I like things with an actual meaning that represents something I care for. If they are talking bout their pasts...thats cool too...but like a said chain blinger wanna be so hard gangstas..etc...like yea...thats just garbage too.

Yeah snoop dogg etc those guys are not in their prime no more....they were big and rising around 13 years ago..*ok now i feel real old* :'( They dont care for the money that much no more...cos hes got a family enough dough and havin a relaxed life releasing his music when ever he pleases... And yea he is still a co owner to death row records and that is shevillin money in too.... either or ...i cringe at times listening to the new stuff...yieks!

PS: If ya dont get the meaning of " I get around, Tupac" XD It's pretty obvious what he's talkin about...lol
