Just started college here. I have only 4 classes on Monday - Thursday (2 classes a day) so my schedule is not too bad. But most of my friends are in a different state now..

The whole school setup is pretty dumb, but it is the most efficient way to teach a lifetime of knowledge extremely fast. I mean, twelve years to prepare for nearly everything the world has to offer? You can't say that's bad.

I actually like some of the classes
(Programing, sports, and couple more)
Oh and I guess I'm junior too
(2nd grade high school or as some of you say 11 grade..)

I agree with you.

Now, this is my opinion, but there's one major flaw with American schools K-12 (It's probably the same with most all schools everywhere). My problem is that they focus so much on giving a broad range education that they don't focus on the individual's talents. I mean, a good example would be how you, depending on your school's curriculum, have to take say anything past geometry. Hell, I'd even go as far as saying taking anything past the basic algebras.

I mean, sure it's a skill that you'll use probably very often, but not everyone is going to need more developed maths in their goals. Same goes with any other class.




Also, does anyone else get depressed at the fact that in maybe 10-20 years, and that's on the high end, that all those 'hard' classes you took in your middle school and high school careers will be either obsolete, or people will be taking them at half the age you took them?

I'm back on campus again and gotta say it's nice. Granted I hate the fact that I'm taking 17 credits and have like 4 classes a day mon-fri, but nothing beats the freedom of college life.

Yea I thought about that a couple weeks ago when I was having a conversation with a neighbor of mine about how much more coursework kids are required to do these days. It's kind of embarrassing to think that kids that are 15-16 will have the same kind of knowledge as I do now, but at the same time I sure as hell am glad I'm not gonna have to be working like a machine like those kids might.
