Theories, theories and theories...
Here's what I think of the Moon's Eye Plan of Madara which is based on ancient Japanese Myth.

This is what Madara said :

Now check this out :
Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Read the last 2 paragraphs. And check this line :

This is the reason that day and night are never together.

So I think there might be some connection of Ametrasu and Tsukuyomi combining together to form something i.e. the changes in the climate or something like the perfect time for the Moon's Eye Plan.
