Default Nine Tails Chakra
Hey peeps, i love naruto but one thing that confuses me is the talk of the nine tails chakra naruto only has the yin etc. this really confuses me and i can't make heaad nor tails of it so if one of the wiser board members could explain or point me in a direction where i can find out id appreciate it, thanks

Ever since that chapter came out it's been confusing people...

There was an old thread about it that Schick made, but some new discussion would be nice too.

What is known is that apparently the kyuubi's chakra either already consisted of yin and yang parts, or it was split into such. And the yang half is definitely sealed into Naruto.

Where is the yin? That's a good question xD Some think it's with the "reaper" used for the reaper death seal technique. I think Schick said it probably could not be separated from the yang, and therefore was "dragged down with it" inside Naruto(meh, Schick could explain that better). Other than that, it could sealed into Minato's body...

Also, it could be that the yin half was sealed similar to the sanbi sealing method(into a scroll). This could be the "key" that Jiraiya had.

I have another theory, but I dunno, I'm still in the process of gathering information on that one. We'll have to see.

In essence: Minato used Shinigami to seal the Kyuubi inside Naruto. He used the sealing technique, Shiki Fuujin, to split the Kyuubi's chakra into yin and yang before sticking it into Naruto. Jiraya claims that Minato only left the Yang chakra for Naruto and sealed the Yin chakra with Shiki Fuujin.

We don't know where the Yin chakra is because we don't know where Minato sealed it.

General ideas are a) it's in Naruto in his mind's Naruto's stomache, b) it was sealed inside the Shinigami's stomache, c) Minato sealed it into his body and it simply died d) He left it on the battle field and it's unusable without Kyuubi's yang chakra (I.e. Madara has it in store.)

I'd also like to add another idea that came to mind...
The other chakra could be sealed within the scroll of the frog key...
Upon unlocking naruto's seal, the yin unlocks as well and they both mix!
(NOTE: VERY UNLIKELY!)

i think that the yin chakra is in Minato that is why he appeared when Naruto was fighting pein.
