It's something I thought of only recently about, Naruto and Sakura being twins. It hit me when I first saw this:

They have similar eyes.

Ahh yes i remember... very good prediction, i think kabuto might get the sharingan too, now...but i still don't know why from danzo though

I guess I forgot how many sharigans are still running around. It really is cheap how common they are.

Well, since the hard work theory is essentially crap the top characters, leading Shinobi all have special abilities. The Sharingan is just one them... And also, there are two singles and two other sharingan users. That isn't exactly a lot.

Might be 3 singles, pending Tobi's left eye.

But yeah, 5-6 eyes(and not just people with the eye) doesn't really make it common.

Well, I think Madara's pretty much confirmed. The possibility does exist that his left eye has become something completely else.

Perhaps Madara took out his other eye for the moon eye plan to work, that is in the realm of possible.

danzou - 1
sasuke - 2
madara -2/1
ictachi eyes in a jar somewhere - 2

that 7 to 8 eye that we know of.
plus some other character might pull a sharigan out of his @##.

Well, I figure Tobi's other one was rendered useless or something, like w/ Kakashi before he got the Sharingan. Why else would he wear a mask with only one eye-hole?

Also, I didn't count Itachi's because he's dead...

Either way, I don't think less than a dozen left in the whole world qualifies it as common. They just seem common because whoever has one automatically becomes a badass at the forefront of the story xD
