This week I began reading the Naruto Manga from chapter 245 (beginning of Shippuden) on Naruto Central in order to find any clues on what will happen in the future. In this thread I am going to break down most of the main characters, their goals, and give a prediction as to what role they will play in the future.


Naruto
Goals: There really is not much to say here. He wants to become Hokage and save Sasuke.

Prediction: When I was reading through the manga for the second time I was actually pretty surprised by what I found. On chapter 251 on pages 13-14 Jiraiya warns Naruto not to use a certain jutsu. Here is the link if you would like to take a look. I believe that this is the jutsu that Jiraiya was teaching Naruto which led him to turn into the four tails and attack Jiraiya. Hopefully we can see this jutsu soon in the manga .

Also, which everyone knows, Naruto is going to train with the frogs.

In addition, I also think Naruto will learn the Space/Time ninjutsu in order to fight Madara. If you do not know what the Space/Time ninjutsu is it is the "flash" technique that Madara and Minato use in order to move faster than the speed of light.

Akatsuki

Pein
Goals: Pein's overall goals are to put an end to all wars, and world domination. Currently he is going after Naruto while Sasuke attempts to get the 8 tails.

Prediction: Naruto will probably escape by the time Pein reaches Konoha. I believe Pein won't want to waste time dealing with Konoha and leave the village alone. Instead he might immediately begin searching for Naruto.

Pein's bodies are people who previously fought Jiraiya. This mystery is beyond me but it obviously has a very significant purpose.

Itachi
Goals: Keep Konoha safe from Akatsuki and to make sure Sasuke became strong.

Prediction: I'll start with the power that Itachi gave Naruto and then talk about his relationship with Sasuke.

Itachi knew that Madara would inevitably attack the Leaf Village after his own death. The power is probably for Naruto to defend the village from Madara. Itachi gave Naruto his "own" power, so maybe he lended him a temporary version of the sharingan, or a powerful jutsu that will only activate if Naruto fights Madara.

After Itachi wiped out the Uchiha clan Sasuke needed to become better than Itachi in order to kill him. However, we know that Sasuke did not want to take the same path to power as Itachi, which was displayed when Sasuke refused to kill Naruto in order to obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan. Itachi knew this, and never wanted Sasuke to know the truth behind his actions. I think this is because if Sasuke realized that Itachi was defending the Leaf village the whole time, Sasuke's hate for his brother would lead him to destroying the Leaf.

Madara
Goals: Same as Pein's except Madara probably wants the destruction of the Hidden Leaf. He is also trying to use Sasuke.

Prediction: We got a nice history lesson on Konoha when Madara explained his past to Sasuke. Unfortunately, I don't think we got the whole truth.

Madara states that the attack from the 9 tails 16 years ago was just a freak accident, but a certain clue shows otherwise. The 9 tails knew Uchiha Madara's chakra, and sharingan. If you can recall when Sasuke and Naruto saw each other for the first time in 3 years, Sasuke crawled inside Naruto's head and saw the 9 tails, who said he remembered Madara. That probably means that the 9 tails was controlled by Madara at one point aka the attack on Konoha

I also think that its possible that Madara is manipulating Pein as well, in order to accomplish his personal goals.

Sasuke
Goals: As far as we know he wants to destroy the higher ups in Konoha. His current mission is to find the 8 tails.

Prediction: In my opinion Sasuke can take 2 paths.

The first path is to take the 8 tails and help complete Akatsuki's goals by giving them the jinchuuriki.

The second is to take the jinchuuriki and turn against akatsuki. I don't think Sasuke assembled hawk just to be manipulated by Madara and pein. He probably has something else up his sleeve.

I can't really add to that! Its a great summary of the manga events.

My prediction is that Itachi gave Naruto either more contorl over the Kyuubi or some anti-sharingan Jutsu that will give Naruto the ability to stop Sasuke without killing him as Naruto said he would do.

As for the Pein/Akatsuki side, I'm still not sure wether Madara or Pein is in true control as they both have followers (Madara being the current/previous Mizukage and Pein acting god of Hidden Rain) so its possible we will see some conflict between them in the future.

I agree with your theory on Naruto's 'that' jutsu, I'd be dissappointed to see another Rasengan variation. And I certainly agree with Naruto doing training with the toads.

real good summery of the manga, shouldve added sasuke though. cause of his whole hebi (he changed it to washi but i still like hebi lol) deal and stuff, thats important lol.
naruto better learn a space/time jutsu. that would be awesome

i rekon that minato took sage training aswell in some ways, from your sig he obviously learnt to summon the toads, whether or not it was something jiraiya taught him i dont know. will be interesting to see whether or not naruto will actually learn if he is minato's son or not, i personally reckon it would be great for him to find out, give him that little extra kick knowing that he was the best hokage's son.

as for the power that itachi gave naruto, the idea of a kyuubi controlling sharingan technique couldnt be out of the question considering that the uchiha clan was able to control the kyuubi. Also if you go back and read chapter 399 "the beginning of everything" you can see when madara and harishima fight there is a 9 tails there, whether or not madara is controlling it or not i dont know. in the photo we see madara in the air the kyuubi under him but harishima also has a large summoning scroll laid out infront of him, and as we know harashima originally had controll over the tailed beasts and handed them out for peace reasons. However madara also admits that uchiha's powers are the only thing that can control the kyuubi.

even drawing from the conclusion its difficult to say whether or not the power that itachi gave naruto is a counter balancer for a sharingan or an element to control the kyuubi im not exactly sure. i just cant wait for more chapters to come out, its getting so good
