because gaara's inside deidaras bird which might explode when deidara dies and they can use deidara to get valuable info from akatsuki, if he didnt join them of his free will... also, his head will be just as useless when you take off his arms...he cant use adequate jutsus except kunai and self destruct, using his mouth.

without arms, he will be less deadly and easier to capture without killing him and losing valuable information. they can also retrieve gaara's body later, as they showed.

Ok, But you forgot something about Mangekyo Sharingan. Kakashi can use Kamui, Sasuke can use Genjutsu, Susano, Amaterasu. It's not a draw. Beacuse Itachi beat Kakashi up before. Itachi was killed by Sasuke.

You know Kakashi is Jonin. Sasuke can match Raikage in a fight. It is possible Sasuke is Super Class. If Sasuke uses Amaterasu to attack Kakashi. Do you know what will happend to him?

it always seems as though the student will beat the teacher... however I still think that sasuke has much more to learn before he can beat kakashi... orochimaru was near death... itachi was sick and pretty much took it easy on sasuke... and gaara save him from raikage... yes saved him... and don't forget even when itachi used tsukuyomi on kakashi for 72 hours/a matter of moments, itachi's chakra was to drained to stay and fight... I believe at the current state it would be itachi>kakashi>sasuke... and as time goes on it will be sasuke>kakashi>itachi when he was alive.

Itachi was killed by Itachi not Sasuke get it right Kuu kuu* I voted for Sasuke but dont count Kakashi out his Kamui has definitetly not reached its full potential and I personally think he could use it against Amaterasu and who knows maybe even Susanoo plus Sasuke's Susanoo is weak compared to Itachi's

kakashi can't do susanoo. it has nothing to do with the ability, but it's the chakra. kakashi can't do his teleporting mangekyou thing without losing like 8/9 of his chakra, and i think susanoo is out of the question, he would die after summoning it from extreme chakra loss...kakashi is not a an uchiha and his chakra amounts aren't as high....or else everyone will be murdering uchihas and transplanting and landing big fat susanoos everywhere...no way can kakashi use his sharingan to it's full potential without dying. so any fight he fights against sasuke involving mangekyou is definite loss or at best a draw...

sigh...itachi was killed by sasuke, get it right. it doesnt matter if he was sick or already weak or losing on purpose, the point is sasuke killed him in the end. sasuke was weakened to begin with too, after his fight with deidara. and i dont think you'll heal completely after getting blasted by a 10 km nuclear explosion, ur still gonna have some cuts and bruises and radiation. therefore, since both were "weakened", i'd say it was a pretty fair match, very close actually.
