Kakashi knows how to do the 8 gates as well...rememeber before kakashi trained sasuke for the chunnin exams he was climbing a cliff ? ....
as well as guy knows around the sharingan by staring at the ground.
So obviously it end up being a draw.

you don't achive anything from not looking into sharingan eyes, exept of avoding tsukuyomi, which kakashi doesn't have.Plus what's point in kakashi copying 8gates, after 8gates are opened you die.(his best bet would be to somehow dodge, but his speed doesn't match guys even in no-gate form)

if gai opens 7 or 8 gates he would win...what's the point in having a super powerful gate that kills you afterwards if someone can actually see your movements? That would suck monkey crap

kakashi may have more moves, sharingan, strategy etc., but sometimes sheer will can keep you going in a fight(naruto, jiraiya, lee, other non-giving up people) kakashi is kind of too serious and not very motivated easily, so if he thought the fight was a joke he would lose...gai doesn't care if he dies as long as it won't really affect anyone so he would be able to slug around all day with kakashi, as where kakashi will get bored/tired/sleepy/run out of chakra. Even if Kakashi was angry or tried his best to kill Gai, Gai would keep on getting up and getting up and getting up, pissing everyone off

you gotta give Gai some credit, he's a special jounin that can really kick your ass if he wanted to...and as for kakashi getting new jutsus and stuff, Gai will also train more and more and more and more and more and more until his skin pops with too much muscle. Don't forget Gai beat himself before, by only wanting to become better and better

i think gai would win, unleas kakashi knows full body chidori technic, same as sasuke.. kakashi may know many technics, but he cant beat taijitsu with them, unleas he knows "gentel fist" i think ordinary taijitsu is worst match with gentel fist.... sharingan cant copy taijitsu, so kakashi needs to be good at it, and we know that gui is master of it..

It can, and he cna see his movements,
and let's not forget, kakashi is pretty darn fast too
ad is able to get in one's head, but Gai knows a way around this...

But that's the least problem...
Kakashi can easily win with a few normal genjytsus,
some ninjutsu and chidori to finish it all up

About the sharingan not copying taijutsu: of course it can! remember how Sasuke copyed Lee's Shadow Dance (I think that's the name) at the chunin exams
