well in that shippuuden episode they fought... a really good battle too.
Kisame was beating the crap out of Gai, and making him look weak at times. But Gai had to go and open the gates... theres alot of spoiling in the rest of this sentece so im going to shut up now.

Gai will lose probably.But he can also use ninjutsu(dont forget the red tortoise sumoned on the chunin exams)and we dont know very much on him.But still Kisame will overtake him.

Kisame definetly. Even though Gai is super powerful the since he is mostly close range Kiasame's water jutsu will take a heavy toll on Guy.
