Naruto Storyline Guide

For those who are lost, cant be bothered to look back, or are just new to the anime, welcome... this thread will outline the whole anime series.

NOTE: Be aware that this is done from my own memory, so it wont be 100% accurate, also the fillers arent included in the count due to too many stories going on at once. Also i never really paid attention to them

WARNING: This guide contains spoilers, read upon your own risk D:

Season 1-
The 1st ep introduces the main 3 characters that will later on be the main focus of the anime, the 3 characters starting off in the 1st ep is Naruto, the title and main character. Hyperactive and a dream to become Hokage, his determination is unparalleled. The next ep introduces the rest of the 3, Sasuke and Sakura, Sakura being Naruto's love interest, pretty much punches him?... i dunno, something like that, Sakura has an infatuation with Sasuke, the girls of the school have him at the center of attention. Sasuke, being a little talented boy, arrogant at times, though still a great teammate has the aim to destroy and hunt down what he called "a certain man" to not give too much away. Next up we have the one eyed when not fighting and Sharingan eyed when fighting, Kakashi, a jounin and an exceptional ninja, also known as the copy ninja due to being able to copy every jutsu he has encountered, not only that, thanks to this ability, he knows over 1000 jutsus due to battle experience, this season has a intro to the Sharingan, being unable to copy Kekkei Genkais (clan abilities), it is still able to copy the typical fire, water, earth techniques, and various others.
Later on in one of thier missions, an escort to the Village in the Mist, escorting a bridge builder, the team meets up with the exiled ninja, Zabuza whom weilds a fairly large sword, pretty normal to me after Final Fantasy, he fights Kakashi shortly after meeting. Soon after the fight we see a new person, whom which we like to call Haku, though he actually seems like a girl in my case... anyways Haku is able to make Ice out of water, pretty much combining the chakra elements of wind and water to make Ice, he leaves upon first meeting. Later on in the Village, Naruto meets a young boy, whom becomes kind of a highlight in this section of the anime, after a episode or two of peace in the village and learning of a sort of mafia dude, Zabuza attacks the building of the bridge.
Naruto arrives late, and soon turning the tides of battle after defeating Haku in joint with Sasuke, Sasuke learns a bit of his Sharingan during this fight, which will eveolve from two dots to 3 later on in the anime. After the epic battle of a huge sword, icy mirrors, a Naruto frenzy, a Sharingan being learned and a Chidori to finish things of with a bang, it's time to go home.
I also forgot to mention Iruka, but he doesnt play a big part in this season.
Fun Fact: The bridge was finished when the team left, and on the day they left, the bridge was named after Naruto.

Season 2-
The Chuunin exams is all i gotta say for this, this season is more on character introduction than anything else since it's quite the list. firstly we see Rock Lee rushing in to fight Sasuke, then his sensei Gai, whom pretty much resembles Rock Lee, Rock Lee copied by the way. Anyways later on we the others, i dont remember the order, so i'll just say them, Shino, a user of bugs, Zaku, he shoots wind from this amplifier, the girl sound ninja, wasnt relevant, and the other sound dude, not really relevant either, only Zaku since he was killed by Gaara, Gaara as i mentioned just now, uses the sand and has never been hurt since the fight with Rock Lee due to Rock's uber hax speed

. Now i'll just finish the intros, Shikamaru, a lazy yet splendid ninja, Chouji, fatass is taboo around him and he eats alot, Ino, Sakura's firey rival over their strength and Sasuke... Next is Kiba's team, Kiba whom uses his dog Akamaru in joint attacking, i already mentioned Shino so i'll skip to Hinata, she's part of the Hyuuga clan, a clan famous for thier eyes the Byakugan, has a 360 degree vision and can see through objects or overlooked objects. Now we introduce Neji, the talent of the Hyuuga clan, he has a bitterness to Hinata whom is next in line for being head of the clan, Neji is only the branch is just a support, Rock Lee has already been mentioned aswell, so here's Tenten, a splendid user of weapons, she summons hundreds of weapons to fight, and using basic ones for fighting as well like Bo Staffs and Katanas. Next we have the strongest set of Genin, the Sand's genin, the overpowered Gaara, the wind user Temari, weilds a large fan, the puppeteer named Kankuro. Thats it for introductions, but we introduce the Jounins, we have the Jounin for the Sand's team, i forgot his name though, next is Kurenai, the jounin of Kiba's team, then Gai, Rock Lee's team, next is Asuma, Shikamaru's team, and then Orochimaru who went under a different name, the "jounin" of the sound's team.
Before all this Naruto's team met an ordeal in the Forest of Death, meeting Kabuto, whom is a known as a medical nin later on, at the end of the forest, Naruto and his team meet Iruka whom tells them the meanings, ordeals and duties as a Chuunin, he was also worried to death for them.
After the fights to split up the odd amount of combatants, resulting in a serious cripple to Rock Lee, the next set of matches are about to begin, the combatants get a few days of training, i dont know how long exactly but i'll outline what happened during the time.
Naruto went to train under Ibiki, or whats-his-name... anyways the water walk, wish i could do that, by molding chakra to the feet for stability on water, he never finishes it with Ibiki, instead a perverted disruption, AKA Jiraiya appears, the toad hermit as he self proclaims, but naruto proclaims him as top pervert, or ero-sennin which means "perverted hermit". Soon after completing the water walk with Jiraiya, he teaches naruto the summoning jutsu, which pretty much failed into a tadpole on the first set of tries, then Jiraiya thrusts Naruto down a chasm which is not climbable. Naruto in a pinch summons, but he didnt summon a normal toad, oh no he didnt, he summoned the Toad King, Gamabunta, whom is pretty much in a rought mood. Later on after enduring Gamabunta's thrashing for hours on no end, Gamabunta accepts Naruto.
The matches start, and with Naruto vs Neji, naruto reigns victorious after tapping into the Nine-Tailed chakra, then its Temari vs Shikamaru, Shikamaru loses, and Temari wins, well Shikamaru's techniques were for killing, but more on capturing, so he couldnt really do anything else. Next up we have is Gaara vs Sasuke, but oh wait... looky here, Sasuke has Chidori?! yep he does, and when he used it on Gaara, it forced him into a frenzy, which forced him to go wild all over Konoha and eventually getting out into the forests. Sasuke is quick on pursuit and Naruto and Sakura and all get left behind by a sleeping serum/gas thingy... Anyways Shikamaru, Paku the ninja hound (Kakashi's pet dog as i like to call it), Naruto and Sakura go into pursuit after Sasuke and Gaara. Unfortunately, Kankuro and Temari are going in aswell. Sasuke meets Temari in battle and rapidly defeats her, after a short amount of pursuit, Sasuke catches up to Kankuro, but gets interupted by Shino, who cooly takes Kankuro on, and thus beating him. with Sakura, Shikamaru, Naruto and Pakun in hot pursuit, Gaara in his half beast form face off with Sasuke. Sasuke fights for a time, but finds his attacks are nearly ineffective, Naruto saves the day and Sakura gets pinned to a tree and knocked out, getting constricted by Gaara's left behind sand hand. Naruto arrives to save the day, after a effective display of clones and 3000 years of pain up Gaara's monstrous ass, Gaara averts to his gigantic Shukaku form, Naruto in counter summons the giant toad, Gamabunta, the two fight and Naruto saves the village. Back at the village by the way, the jounins were having an epic speedy match with the sound ninja, and the ANBU join and cause a swift victory, despite having oh say... 3 or 2 snakes running rampant?
Anyways the Third Hokage died as a result of Orochimaru D:. The next day a funeral was in place, and that episode was all about the sad memories of the Third.

Season 3-
Off to find a new Hokage... and the meeting with Itachi and Kisame... what relation does Sasuke have to Itachi?! i'll answer that, being Sasuke's target, yep, thats right, the certain man was his older brother, who woulda known

. Anyways that's not the main highlight, Jiraiya is charged with the search of the new Hokage, this lady or as many people suspected it was gonna be a man, is named Tsunade, whom has a pig named Pon Pon or something... and her assistant Shizune, both of which are extremely skilled medical nin, Tsunade having super human strength, she is able to destroy whole buildings and cause minature earthquakes. Anyways the teachings Naruto receives in these times is the formidable Rasengan, the all spinny, the all blue, the all ball spheric shaped Rasangan, yes it is formidable, i'll explain later. Orochimaru appears, OH NOES D:. not a big deal, but since Orochimaru's arms were turned ineffective by the third hokage as his last act, Orochimaru sought Tsunade in order to heal this, instead Tsunade tried to kill him, but Kabuto interfered and prevented Orochimaru's death, resulting in a battle consisting of 3 summons, a Rasengan to Kabuto's stomach, Tsunade's healing abilities learned and Naruto gaining the Hokage necklace which gets him definite position as Hokage. Anyways back at the village, Kakashi ends up in a coma from Itachi's Sharingan, the Tsukuyomi, you experience 72 hours of torture to the mind... cant imagine that really...

Season 4-
Sasuke runs away! why? he seeks power, Orochimaru made promising offers for power beyond Sasuke's dreams or so he says, anyways, the Sound 4 put him into a little capsule thingymajig. The sound four fight as Shikamaru, Chouji, Naruto, Kiba, Neji are in pursuit, the 1st fight being the fat dude from the sound 4 versus Chouji, battle of t3h fatties

the sound 4 arent so relevant, but make a good fight, i quite enjoyed them, anyways the food pills of CHouji's clan helped very much, gaining him the win, but at a hefty price. Neji then fought the 4 armed dude, i call him the true Spider Man, the battle was of course won, but with Neji in a near death state, he made a really good win too. Next up was Sakon and Ukon versus Kiba and Akamaru, why do i remember his name? its because this guy in this other forums has him as his avatar and name, anyways i the fact of a dog peeing on you to fight you is disturbing... Next is Shikamaru versus the swearing girl with a flute, omg t3h swearing songs D:, just joking, Shikamaru's well planned strategies put him very close to winning. Naruto catches up to the last member, he's not officially part of the sound 4, but he was as a support, carrying the container carrying Sasuke. Naruto fought with anger leading him, making over 1000 clones, they got slaughtered without effort by Kimimaro, the name of the combatant. Later on Rock Lee catches up to Naruto, saving him, Rock Lee ends up accidentally drinking Sake instead of his medicine, and turned into a drunken frenzy, the drunken fist, the deadliest of the deadliest, DRUNK LEE!!!! Anyways the fight was nice and lengthy, with alot of bone shattering action. Now you'd think all had been won, well only with Neji and Chouji at least, Kiba is on a run from Sakon and Shikamaru is at a standstill, that's all gonna change as Shikamaru's opponent is swept away by Temari in a flash, and Sakon is killed in an instant by Kankuro's awesome puppets

. Next we have the less swift, but awesomely cool Gaara fighting Kimimaro, what happened to container for those who've been paying attention, well Sasuke popped out and ran towards that waterfall thing with a statue of the 1st Hokage and Uchiha Madara. Anyways Gaara's fighting with Kimimaro was just like Rock Lee's fighting Gaara, no, there isnt any speed hax, instead, Kimimaro puts up a good fight, but loses anyways, yes thats it.
NOW FOR T3H EPIC!!! Naruto VS Sasuke, i'll put in outline, at the beginning, Naruto and Sasuke are doing normal fighting, fire techniques and clones whatnot, after a bit, Naruto is Chidori'd through a lung, forgot which side, that's gotta hurt right? he's gonna die right? WRONG! Ninetails saves him from certain death and makes Naruto's speed haxed, Sasuke cannot keep up, until the 3rd dot on his Sharingan appears, he can now put up a fight against the Nine Tails chakra. After a bit they get into a classical standoff where the next move will decide the match, Rasengan VS Chidori, its a shame Chidori won, but this is the anime afterall, Sasuke leaves for Orochimaru's hideout and Naruto is resting.

Season 5-
Fillers and more fillers, around 90 eps of it... anyways Naruto leaves in the last ep.

Shippuuden Season 1-
OMG LOOK IT'S NARUTO! OMG HE'S TALLER THAN HIS YOUNGER SELF! OMG HE'S GOT A NEW PERVERTED JUTSU! yes there're alot of things to talk about here, expecially the character's funky new clothes, and just like the 1st season of the original Naruto seasons, it focuses more on the main characters, for now its only Sakura and Naruto, taking a training session with Kakashi and finding his weakness... SPOILERS! i full on laughed at that.
Anyways we watch Deidara, a perfectionist, user of alot of explosives, the Akatsuki terrorist, and the artistic banger (nothing perverted thank you...). Yes that was a nice intro to Deidara, we watch him as he beats Gaara with hundreds of flying birds... and then Gaara eventually gets dragged off, but Deidara didnt go as 1 person, he went with Sasori, a puppet user just like Kankuro. Kankuro gets into a fight with Sasori after a nice pursuit, the fight was quick but it was all that he needed, a scent of Sasori.
Now we watch Naruto arrive with Sakura and Kakashi, he hears of Gaara being dragged off, and Kankuro is poisoned by his last fight, with Sasori of course. Sakura does an effective job at making the antidote for this poison. the new lady on the scene is an old lady, whom knows Tsunade as a rival, Chiyo, for every poison she's made, Tsunade has made an antidote for each one... how frustrated would you feel? apparently Kakashi resembled his father whom killed Chiyo's daughter/son, i dont whioch side of the family... anyways the team gets into a pursuit onto the Akatsuki base, not base, but close, and to accompany them, the funny ole Gai's team, Neji, Tenten and Rock Lee, WE LOVE THIER RETURN!
The next set of eps is nothing but fighting and Naruto and Kakashi are in pursuit onto Deidara with Gaara's body after the bijyuu extraction. Sasori's past with Chiyo is revealed, and Sakura's training with Tsunade shows much results. Gai and his team fight thier doppelgangers by pushing themselves, but not too much. Also as a fun fact and you'll see it anyways, on the way to the "base", Itachi and Kisame doppelgangers meet each of the teams, Gai's team fights Kisame, the doppelganger was soundly beaten by Gai's array of attacks, and the Itachi doppelganger was beaten as a result of Naruto's genjutsu training with Jiraiya as we see in his past.
Anyways we see Kakashi's new eye (we always see it from him 1st), the Mangekyou Sharingan. We also see Zetsu, some plant dude and the "good boy" Tobi, whom is quite the comedy releif (he gets choked by Deidara in between the legs).

Shippuuden Season 2-
Well Team Kakashi get back to Konoha, along with Naruto and Sakura, and right off the bat, they receive another mission. Who remembers Sasori? Apparently in trigger of his defeat, he leaked a bit of information to Sakura, saying that he was to meet Kabuto, on the Heaven and Earth bridge. Well those who don't remember Kabuto, he's that dude with glasses that hangs around Michea- I mean Orochimaru. Apparently before they go off on a mission, Tsunade says that they need another team mate, Naruto goes off in search of team mates, Hinata, and so on. And in the middle of it, he finds this mysterious guy, apparently he's part of ANBU Root, and is named Sai, he paints on scrolls, making pictures come to life, for example a lion if he were to draw one. He was assigned to Team Kakashi by the Konoha elders. Another new face, his name is Yamato, and is also part of ANBU, but not Root, he is Kakashi's replacement, whom strained himself too much to keep going. The team make their way to Heaven and Earth bridge, there they find out that Orochimaru had planned this as a trap, and was intended for Sasori. Things got outta hand and well... Naruto went Kyuubi 4 tailed. After a bit of fighting, and a whole lot of snake vomiting on Orochimaru's part, Yamato simmers things down with his earth jutsu, holding Naruto down, Sai takes off with Kabuto and Orochimaru. Soon afterwards, Yamato, Sakura, and Naruto go after Sai, who gets to see Sasuke. Yea, Sasuke's back now, and after a brief battle against Kabuto, and then very soon, Sasuke, has a momentary meeting with the Kyuubi within Naruto. After that, they retreat, and that concludes the 2nd Season.
