The biggest thing Kakashi learned was not to betray your team mates. It would only take certain conditions for him like if he had to choose between lives..
Im guessing this thread assumes Kakashi can take Sasuke down in the first place, in reality he can't imo (latest manga chapter 426 to date). But if he could I'm sure for the greater benefit of the village he would kill Sasuke (this also assumes Sasuke definitely intends to destroy village, which I dont think so either).
These kind of scenarios I doubt will happen as we can see the gradual change in which the oldies of Konoha are leaving the village in the hands of the youngsters. Imo any epic final showdowns, im sure there's a few left, (everyone is expecting a Sasuke fight) to end the current arc will not involve the oldies, maaaybe a little involvement but not a lot. Or perhaps kishi will have the oldies get involved to show that they are not strong enough and then the (originally) 9 genin will come to save the day.

No, it means, would have have it in him emotionally. Meaning, in his heart, could he do it. Like Sandaime couldn't bring himself to kill Oro all thoughs years ago. I thought that was obvious.
Well, it's hard to tell, but if Sasuke threatens Konoha as a missing-nin, I think he would try to kill him, for the sake of the village. But if you are talking about the old team 7, and Kakashi would have to choose between killing, or letting team mates die, or saving them ruining the village, I seriously think Kakashi would protect the village, but only if he really couldn't protect his friends first.

That's true. He may try to reason with them first. Kakashi is the type to try and always talk about things. But if that didn't work, then I guess he could do it. He'd just live with regrets.
