I'm not really a fan but...
Naruto is a pretty piss poor show in my opinion, but the manga was all right for an action one. Uh, I'd seen the show on Toonami a long time ago. I'm not a fan of dubs so I turned to the internet and started watching it illegally. The plot was very intriguing and captivating, and when there actually was action it was good, the down time in between is always what drives me away from Naruto. That and it's fanbase. Me and Naruto have this thing going, I'll watch it for a while, then just shrug it off because it does get really, really dumb at some points; "OH I'M CARING FOR FRIENDS AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES ME STRONG, SAUKE!" get's old after a while, and then the little fillers are all the same predictable pattern too. Naruto will go on some mission, befriend someone who obviously shouldn't be befriended, then that person will end up in some moral dilemma and have Naruto there to yell at them for the next ten episodes and then end in some dramatic way that will never be brought up again. That's why I hate Naruto. And it's fanbase.

It's not that I hate it, it's just that it has extremely bad writing pretty much all the time which gets in the way of me enjoying it for the reason that I'm watching it, the action. That and it's fanbase.

I understand your problems with it, but the manga storyline is written much better than the fillers could ever dream of being, and the characters are quite interesting, (at least in my opinion). It's getting better, too. I am hoping the new hybrid filler/manga episodes like 115 keep up. It's much more effective than fillerfillerfillermangamangafillerfillerfiller is...

I'll agree upon the fact that the manga's storyline is good, which when the show follows it it's good as well, but in my honest opinion it's pretty poorly illustrated. Oh, and it's fanbase.
