(ooc: Lol sorry for making you feel uncomfortable puppet, I did mention my character was a bit odd for being tribal based not “civilised”. Erm did that just make it sound worse…ahem well not in that way, he is a decent man who WOULDN’T do anything! )
Having spent most of last night smoking the rest of Lizard meat to use as rations, Kirin had used the rest of the time collecting essential herbs and cleaning his arm, eating knives and spear heads alongside the river. It was here he found himself earlier this morning, perched against a tree half asleep. Either way that didn’t matter now as he stood alongside the others with a full pack on his back, this included a gourd of water and all the food packed into specialised bags that neutralised their scents. This way it wouldn’t be the food that attracted the beasts, which in itself would save them any unnecessary trouble. Another minor thing he’d taken into consideration were the minor wounds in his forearm, which he’d covered in a selection of local herbs, wrapped up tight, before placing the arm guard back on. This would have a similar effect as the food bags by confusing the beasts into thinking all they had were uninteresting local fruits and herbs. As they stood at the forests edge he sighed softly as he took a spear in hand just in case, as its depths called them inwards. |

(Lol... Ook, it wasn't you... It was my fault. I find it kind of funny, really. I just didn't realize how awkward the entire situation was until I had already posted, and others had, too. But thank you for the thoughts. I don't have much, so let's wait for Ichi to post.)

The trudging through the forest wasn't too bad, the forest in the morning was peaceful, the grass on the forest floor was wet with dew and shone in the morning sun. Truly, the forests of this world were wonderful, however, theur minds may change when they get in far enough. After a long walk, at least a few hours, the forest quickly darkened and sunlight became scarce. Looking forward, the trio only see blackness lieing ahead, the silence of this forest became deathly, no longer did they hear birds, no longer did they see insects of any sort, no longer was the ground laid with grass. Breaking the silence, Karasu quickly said,
"It's going to get dangerous from here on in, there will be monsters, if it becomes hopeless to fight them off, we run further in, that may seem crazy, but the forest beckons me to trust it". |

"Light is no obstacle." Leanah said, her palms lighting up. The air around her lit up, and they were able to continue.
"I am slightly worried about irritating the local fauna, however... But at least we can see them well enough to fight. Keep your ears sharp." She said, looking around. |

"Turn that light off, i can already sense the monsters coming this way!", he said, he hadn't begun to sweat, but in his own ears, he heard rapid and heavy steps, much like of a heavy monster, but it was too late, the monster had arrived, a colosuss dragon beast thing, it had wings, but it's body looked much more like a wolf rather than a dragon. It's head was a sort of eagle, the eagle head was easily recognisable,
"It's a griffin", he said, then quickly he realised something, "Monsters of this forest stay well away from griffins, the moment we kill the griffin, we must turn that light off, otherwise we'll attract the attention of more monsters", quickly bursting out those words. The griffin squealed, and did it's cry, it was a high pitched sort of eagle sound, it wasn't deafening, but this was the cry they did to begin battle, now the other animals will really get out of here. The griffin began it's attack, it's large bird-like talons ready to strike down it's first target. OOC: This is what makes the deep ends of the forest so dangerous, you can't make your way without light, but with light, you can't survive. |

"I- OH!" She said, barely ducking to dodge the massive creature's swipe. The huge beast was nearly seven feet tall, with a beak the size of Leanah's head. She took out her blade, and began hacking at it. The flash of her magic illuminated the forest, on top of the light still emanating from her hands.
Blood spurted from the beast flank as she dug her blade into it's side. But her strikes were little more than futile. Still, she kept at it. |

(don’t worry about it puppet ^^ I have to admit that isn‘t the oddest rp situation I’ve been in…
) Kirin instantly switch his usually calm attitude and walk, to a more fluid stalk like gate as his eyes ran instinctively over the terrain picking up the slightest detail. To him the beauty went unnoticed for those that were town based, they were easily distracted by minor things missing the important aspects that could mean the difference between life and death. The deeper they ventured the more vigilant the hunter became as he relied on all of his senses, most importantly his eyes and ears. Then as the dark took over he switched gradually to relying on his ears and the ground vibrations through his thin hide boots. At this point his feet easily crossed the leaf litter without a sound, and at Karasu’s words he allowed a softly spoken, “Understood.” Suddenly as the light shone up he instantly closed his eyes, so they wouldn’t loose their sensitivity to the previously dark forest. But before he spoke the other man did so before him as he crouched down and felt the ground vibrations. The loud and deep vibrations announced another larger beast as he wrapped the headscarf around his head to shade his eyes. It’s appearance differed form the griffins he’d been taught about in folk lore, but it’s majesty and grace as an ultimate predator was clearly the same. “It’ll be a shame to kill you…” He said lightly, as it’s battle cry echoed powerfully through the dark forest, casting a clear challenge to the intruders within its territory. With a soft sigh he lifted his black mask and took a second spear in hand. As Leanah focused on its flank and side, the Griffon screeched in pain as it whirled its eagle head and gaping beak in her direction. With that Kirin leapt in front of its head and whirled a stone connected at the base of his spear, cracking it hard against the beasts beak twice. He used the vibrations to disorientate it briefly giving him time to speak. “Leanah, aim for the chest stab deep and try and hit the heart or the lungs…” Suddenly he was forced to jump back to dodge a vicious swipe from the beasts talon. “Other wise aim for the wind pipe in the neck or vitals around the head…” At a second Talon swipe he flicked a quick spear digging it point into the base of the griffins fore foot. Suddenly he whirled his second spear aiming a mud pit to sink its other talon into the ground forcing it to extend its wings to balance itself. This in itself caused problems as its wings were easily snared on the surrounding branches. |

OOC: The things got another trick up it's sleeve... Also if you keep throwing your spear, it may get destroyed... like now
IN: The beast was pinned down, but not out, it was only called a griffin due to appearance, but what it can do was very little like a griffin. It's wings began to glow, and the spear that pinned it, broke, then as easily as it broke the spear, broke the second one, it's talons glowed this time. The griffin was once again raring to go. Karasu charged forward, the griffin though if it could would have laughed at him, and began charging a sort of wind ball, instantly he recognised this, Karasu quickly feather dashed forward, doing a few times which got him in range, in a flash that seemed unclear due to the dim light, he was in midair, his dagger was bloody as he held it out to the side, then as quickly as he did that, he landed, turning around to face his crew. Then he thrust his dagger upwards behind him, and extending the blade, he pierced the griffin's heart, "Heh... i don't wanna have to do that again... now turn that light, and hold onto my hands, i can see a lot clearer in the dark than you both". |

(I feel inadequate and burdening...
lol )Leanah did as she was told, feeling more of a nuisance than of any help. She again cleaned her blade, and grabbed the nearest hand, finding it belonged to Karasu. They began the trip to wherever again, making little sound. Leanah, who was used to light in practically every situation, felt very out of place here, her eyes unaccustomed to the darkness surrounding her. Yet she trudged on, the motivation of something unknown pulling her further into the dark depths of the unforgiving shadows lying in wait ahead... |
