“Damn I thought we still had enough daylight left…” The hunter cursed to himself as he rose fluidly to his feet. This whole world is still strange to me, I didn’t see his tracks in the forest during my time in there… He thought to himself as he wound the scarf around his head, then at Karasu’s question he said quickly. “Kirin Talon,” At this point he lifted his black mask so only his eyes could be seen as he drew two spears with practiced ease. With both spears in hand he whirled them round in a complex pattern before stabbing their points into the ground before him. Suddenly the solid ground that the beast just stepped on turned briefly to shallow liquid based mud pits, tripping the surprised beast.

Kirin knew from experience the beast would soon be back on its feet, but before that he turned and with two swift movements the fire hissed as it was consumed within a mud pit. Just as a second strong fruit smelling cloak was tossed over the meat. There shouldn’t be any other beasts coming to challenge this ones claim of the meat, so if we beat him his scent should be enough to keep away others. He thought briefly to himself as he judged the beasts size. “All of you keep attacking one after the other, don’t let him single you out as the weakest in the group or he’ll instantly focus all his attacks on you.” Kirin said based on experience, “Aim to weaken him don’t waste big attacks trying to kill him…” With that he flicked both of his spears sending a fist sized rock to the beasts paw and then another into its face, earning them a deafening roar of pain and irritation.

Simply shooting five feathers from his one slash, it further irriitated the beast,

"wait these things attack in packs... Don't tell me...", quickly he turned, and before he knew it, he was forced to abandon the tree as two of the same beasts jumped and attempted to claw him down. The one attacking in the front was being taken care of by Kirin, while the two taking up the rear would be for him and Leanah. Charging the closest one, he sunk his blade into the lower chest, his strike was quick, but did little, the beast attempted to bash him off, but it didn't work. The blade was still in it's chest, and Karasu was behind the beast. Quickly he jumped into the air, just about the height where the beast could meet a strong kick, which it did. The strong kick paralysed it, and quickly, Karasu ripped the dagger through the beast's right, ripping it's abdomen. Quickly he turned, and struck the killing blow, his blade extended through the beast's skull, the shadowy extension horribly portruding from behind it. As if time had slowed down (....), the beast fell backwards in slow motion, and it looks like Leanah had done through with the other one.

IN: The two beast ran from the brush soon after the other one. Before she had time to react, one was jumping for Kirin's back, as he fought one infront of him.

"Sacred Prism!" She threw the water from the bottle at her waist at Kirin, and it formed a small barrier just in time. The beast blew through it, but so much of the force was gone, the creature lost it's momentum and fell short. That was lucky... That spell is meant mainly for magic attacks... She thought. Whirling around, she stabbed the disoriented creature in the flank, her blade shining brightly and illuminating the entire area. It entered the beast's body with ease. As the beast turned to retaliate, she jumped back. The beast's simple mind was easily confounded by the small puddle of water flying through the air, controlled by Leanah's magic. When the time was right, she struck again. Finally, she gouged her shining blade through the creature's eye. It fell, dead.

Using the water to clean her blade, she separated it from the blood and brains contained in the floating liquid. Rebottling her water, she placed her blade in the sheath. Taking a deep breath, she spoke up. "Is anyone hurt? I can help you if you are." She said, glancing at her newfound companions.

OOC: Well in the frozen world, water would be much like ice, but won't be as cold... and fires cannot be generated, the heat that is in the air is constant. And they're attempting to contact the timeless world using an elven dimensional portal in the fort, originaly a normal teleportation portal, but the Timeless are tinkering it to travel through dimensions. (yea the Timeless world and World of Time are in seperate dimensions). Well enjoy the fort, the portal looks just like one of those ancient stone pads, and this one's only 1 metre in radius.

By this point Kirin had blinded the beast in front of him by aiming concentrated particles of earth and stone directly into the eyes. As he tested the beasts hide with his spear points, as well as its reactions after an attack. This cruel experiment would aid with future encounters with the beasts as he easily dodged its attacks. Suddenly when he was about to finish it off by stabbing the exposed part just behind the jaw line, he noticed the presence of the second beast.

The brief distraction allowed the beast in front of him to whirl its head round and try to bite his arm, whilst the second fell short from attacking him. Despite his quick movements the first managed to briefly bite down on his forearm before he lunged in with a second spear to stab it in the back of the throat. The creature coughed spraying him with blood as he stepped to one side and by using mud pits it crashed down to the ground once more. As soon as it was down he leapt lightly up onto its back and stabbed deeply behind the ear instantly killing it.

With a sigh he leapt down as he pulled off his head scarf and mask, “Fowl beasts…” He muttered to himself as he turned to Leannah, “Thank you for watching my back wise woman.” The young man said with a smile. “There are still strange beasts in these forests I haven’t encountered yet…” He told them openly as he longed for the hotter regions where survival for life didn’t mean keeping away from strange men or beasts. Instead you had to live by your wits and knowledge everyday to survive in areas where even the basic resources can be hard to come by. Another bonus was the blissful heat balanced by the night time cold, which made up the conditions he was brought up it.

At this point he pulled off the reinforced hide at his right forearm to expose the shallow puncture wounds. After tensing and relaxing his arm a couple of times it was clear the attack hadn’t hit any of the nerves, and if anything it was mainly bruising. “Typical cub mistake,” He growled to himself as he wrapped it tightly up in cloth. “There’s no need to worry yourself, wise woman, in my sept I’m to keep these as a reminder of my foolish mistakes.” Kirin told her with respectful salute with his spears before he cleaned their tips and hooked them back in his quiver.

"Very well," she said. "And you're welcome." She looked at the meat being cooked. "I do believe that the meat is done cooking... Any more and it will become tough and chewy. We should take it down now." She said, sitting on a rock.

Karasu turned to the forest, he felt a strange presence, it was yearning to him, but he cannot go there now, it was dark and monsters maybe ten times fold stronger than the one he's just slain exist in there. Then looking back to Kirin, he wondered if he felt the yearning presence of the forest, and that was the same with the girl, Leanah. Then quickly looking to them, he said,

"I'm going into the forest tommorow, i feel there's something i need to do there, come with me if you like, but i probably will be going very deep in".

Using the earth he deftly banked the fire, whilst leaving the meat on the spit. “Help yourselves friends,” He said to the others as he pulled out a small eating knife and knelt beside it. With this he cut himself a slice and distractedly ate it off his knife as with a slight frown he watched the forest. The spirit like haunt both attracted and repelled him, with the latter being the weaker of the two. But after a while his left hand instinctively rested on spears as if accepting the challenge.

Suddenly as Karasu broke the silence he blinked as he turned to face the man whilst cutting himself another slice of meat. “I’ll journey with you friend,” He said before saying thoughtfully. “Its as if the Earth spirits are drawing me onto a similar path as yours.” Kirin told the man with a slight smile. “I have journeyed a range of trails within that forest, but I’ve never strayed into its depths. It’ll be fun to discover some of its more dangerous secretes…I wonder what sort of beasts lie in wait…” The young man finished as he found himself watching the forest once more.

"Hehe, then it's settled yes? We all head into the forest at first light, if we go at a later time, it'll only be mroe dangerous", he said, taking a bite out of the lizard meat, though he preferred sitting up in a tree and eating, it was an inconvenience when he needs to get more of the meat. Though the stream wasn't too far away, he could finally clean his dagger then.

"I'll be down at the stream for a moment".
