I'm for L but I liked what Blizzard said. I used to not like Near at all but when he said that I didn't mind him because he basically said he alone can't out think L or Kira. Teamwork, haha.

Near was working with the FBI, and he was basically continuing from where L left off...

so...if given more time, L would have solved the case also. That's why Light wanted to get rid of him as soon as possible, since he was close on solving and connecting everything about Kira.
