TailedFox Forum Rules
TailedFox Forum is a friendly community because everyone respects the rules and eachother.
Let us keep it that way! [The Rules] [General] [No Spamming] [Member Behavior] [Misc.] [Forum Etiquette] [Check if a Thread Already Exists] [Double Posting & Bumping] [Clear Titles] [Language] [Rep Abuse and Thanking] [Difference Between Discussing and Arguing] [The Infraction System]
The forum has a really handy tool called the “search button” in which you can look up to see if the topic you are making has already been made or discussed. We advise that you use it before you make a thread. If however, you make multiple threads that have already been made, you will receive an infraction. Double posting is making a new post directly underneath another post you made. If by chance you accidentally double post, it happens to all of us at one point or another, then just hit the report button or Private Message a mod and we'll fix it A.S.A.P for you. Bumping is when you post just for the thread to be considered “active“ again, if you don’t have anything beneficial to add to the topic then don’t post. You may only bump a topic if it's an important update that is relevant to the thread, of course before it is labelled as dead. Or if it's a thread where you have asked a question that has gone unanswered, then you may bump it once, but only once. Breaking this rule will result in an immediate infraction for it will be theated as spam. TailedFox forums is an English board forum and you are obligated to speak English everywhere on the board except in this thread. Moreover, we advise you to use correct English, please do not type in chat or 1337 (Leet), we're not strict on correcting spelling or grammar, but make it easily readable. Furthermore, even if you see another member making spelling errors please don't be a grammar nazi for every small mistake. Its important for you to make clear what the thread is about, and not use a misleading title. Example: I want a thread for the different bijuu's...but I dont entitle it "Creatures of Naruto's World" It should be precise and simple like "All Ten Bijuu's" or "The Bijuu's" or "The Bijuu's and their Jinchuriki's" or "Tailed Beasts" Example: Giving for name a totally different thing is forbidden. Simple as that. Dont entitle your thread as "Naruto Shippuden Music" if you're talking of " Bleach Funny Pictures" People, usually, if they can't find a thread manually, use the search option, so its quite important for the threads to have clear and precise titles. Also, to save time for people, so they can find what they're looking for faster. In the case of the first example depending on the continuity of this practice, this might end up on the member getting a warning and if continued, an infraction. Second case is quite different and will result in a warning, if continued will be given an infraction. Ok, people. First things first, having more rep doesn't make you cooler. Don't beg for it, don't rep others in hope of gaining some rep points back, don't rep others over trivial things or in spam sections. When to give reputation points: Reputation posts are meant for people who make a big contribution to the site, example for a suggestion thread that gave the idea for a big change in the site. It should be used in significant posts, like in the theories part of the manga sub-forum; someone worked hard in a theory, posted evidence and constructed a well based theory and you loved it. Then rep said person. Trust me we will know if you have abused of this feature. This is the icon for the rep and is located on the top right side of the posts in the Naruto 2.0 skin and at the bottom left in the Naruto and Default skins.Bad usage of the rep system will end in a warning, if continued will be given an infraction. When to give your thanks: The thank you button is there for minor relevance help posts; more precisely is for helping a member as an individual. Someone posted a tutorial and you learned how to do something in the forum or for your personal use, express your thanks. Someone made for you a graphic [avatar, signature, etc] express your thanks. If you had an important question or had any problem and someone helped you clear it out, give your thanks. This is the thanks button: and its located at the bottom of each post. The difference between the two: Rep points are to recognize and thank a person for helping the site. Thanks are for people who helped you as an individual. How you cross the line between discussing and arguing? Simple, when you discuss an idea or your point of view over a certain situation or topic, you let the other express his/her point, respect said point, consider it, if you don't agree, then give a valid objection. When you start dissing the other person, saying his idea is stupid, that he shouldn't make a comment, not only you are flaming but are not giving a basis to your accusation. It stopped being a debate of ideas to become a fight between mindless parrots. Bickering in threads wont be tolerated. Breaking this rule will immediately result into an infraction and if continued, a 24 hour ban. All the infractions that you receive are worth 1 point, some points expire but some don’t. Here is a list: Advertising: Never Flaming and Trolling: 6 months Inappropriate Language: 1 month All of these points add up, and the consequences after every specific amount of points, you will receive bans, so be wary when you start receiving points. This is a long list of rules and we are certain there are still things we missed, so the mods and admins hold the right to act appropriately when it is necessary. In extreme situations we reserve the right to call on extreme measures. Hope you enjoy your time here at TailedFox Forums. Sincerely, Mods and Admins |
