TailedFox Forum Rules

TailedFox Forum is a friendly community because everyone respects the rules and eachother.
Let us keep it that way!

[The Rules] [General] [No Spamming] [Member Behavior] [Misc.]

[Forum Etiquette] [Check if a Thread Already Exists] [Double Posting & Bumping] [Clear Titles] [Language] [Rep Abuse and Thanking] [Difference Between Discussing and Arguing]

[The Infraction System]

  • One Account per Person Each user is entitled to one account, if the same user is using two accounts, the second account will be deleted and the first account will receive a month long ban as a first offence, if continued, the user will be permanently banned.
  • No Pornography Any post with pornographic or hentai in them, whether picture or text, will be deleted immediately and the user will receive a permanent ban. It is absolutely not tolerated, this also includes the discussion of topics such as rape, pedophilia etc.
  • No Advertising is permitted. Breaking this rule will result in a week long ban.
  • No Illegal Materials such as Torrents, Warez, Hacks, Cracks, Serials, Cheats etc. are permitted anywhere. Doing this will result in an permanent ban.

  • Posting unrelated posts to a thread is prohibited, going a little off-topic won't have the staff going after you, but going too far off-topic will. Going too far off-topic will result in a warning from a staff member, continuation of this will result in a infraction.
  • No Cross Posting This is when member posts an identical post in various threads. It will result in a warning and if continued, an infraction.
  • Necroing is the action where one revives a dead thread. Six weeks is the amount of time that can pass without a post being made in a thread before it is labeled as dead. In a first offense, reviving a thread will just result in a warning, after reviving more than one thread, the member will be given an infraction.
  • Bugging is the action where a member will keep annoying a staff member to do something, keep in mind, we have lives too. Comments like "plz do this for meeeee!!!" are annoying when only a 30 minutes have passed, this rule is also applied for the GFX Shops. Multiple accounts of bugging either a staff member or a member will result in an infraction.
  • One word replies are not only rather irritating as it doesn't add on to a discussion, but considered spam and will not be tolerated. Examples of these posts are "yes" or "lol ", this are only tolerated in the Forum Games forum. On a member's first offense, said member will receive an infraction and will keep receiving one for each offense; 10 infraction points will lead to a 24 hour ban.

  • No Swearing This is a family friendly board so swearing is prohibited. Breaking this rule as a first offense will result into a warning and if continued, an infraction for every word.
  • No Flaming Flaming is attacking someone. This includes both insulting another member for something he said with slurs or any discrimination of any kind (Sexuality, Race etc.). Breaking this rule will immediately result in an infraction and if continued, a 24 hour ban.
  • No Trolling Trolling is replying with negative comments on purpose to either spark or add onto flaming, or just to aggravate a member or a group of members. This will result in a warning and if continued, an infraction.
  • No Mini-Modding unless your name is blue, red or green don’t go around acting like a mod. It’s fine to remind someone about the rules, but don’t be aggressive about it. That’s why we have mods here; it’s our job. If someone is breaking the rules, then report them instead of taking things in your own hands. Depending on the severity, this might result with the member getting a warning and if continued, an infraction. (*Credits to OneManga Forums)
  • Member Issues such as a personal complaint to a specific member will be handled either through an instant messaging program such as MSN, AIM, ICQ etc. or through Private Messaging on the forums. Making a thread about a personal issue or complaint will result in an infraction.
  • Staff Issues . A member will not post complaints attacking any moderator or admin. Handle a problem maturely by contacting the mod or admin directly via PM or ask another mod or admin to mediate. If such a post is made, the member will receive an infraction and if they continue a 48 hour ban.
  • Goodbye Threads majority of the time are abused to write rants about a member or the forum. A leaving thread is not allowed unless you have a genuine reason you want to share with us like a serious illness, tsunami hit, nuclear explosion within a 50km radius, etc. For an inappropriate goodbye thread, the member will receive an infraction.

  • Use spoiler tags when needed, not everyone is caught up to the anime or reads the manga, spoiling is very frowned upon. Large Images should also be wrapped into a spoiler tag to help server loading for members with a slow connection. Multiple offenses to this rule will lead to a warning and if continued, an infraction.
  • Giving credit to something you did not create, is obligated. The way to give credit is described below in the spoiler tag, if this rule is not uphold, you will receive an infraction, if continued, a ban.

  • [i]SCREAMING[i] IS NOT ALLOWED EITHER, IT'S ANNOYING. So please write your posts in lower case letters. Sure, writing some parts in caps is permitted, but not an entire post. Writing an entire post in caps two times, will result in a warning and continuation of this, will result in an infraction.
  • Report instead of Respond; this is rather simple. If you want to help us out when picking up spam or such, hit the report button on that post. It's this button Click the image to open in full size. that you can find either at the top right of the Naruto 2.0 Skin or bottom left on the Naruto and vBulletin default skin. You'll have to fill out a message and it will be e-mailed to the staff members.
  • Keep things PG-13, TF has made it a point to make this site as family friendly as possible as we have said. This also means there is to be no talk of any explicit material; no overly sexual pics, no string of expletives. If you can't post without cursing you should rethink your vocabulary. Be mature about what you’re submitting.

The forum has a really handy tool called the “search button” in which you can look up to see if the topic you are making has already been made or discussed. We advise that you use it before you make a thread. If however, you make multiple threads that have already been made, you will receive an infraction.

Double posting is making a new post directly underneath another post you made. If by chance you accidentally double post, it happens to all of us at one point or another, then just hit the report button or Private Message a mod and we'll fix it A.S.A.P for you.

Bumping is when you post just for the thread to be considered “active“ again, if you don’t have anything beneficial to add to the topic then don’t post. You may only bump a topic if it's an important update that is relevant to the thread, of course before it is labelled as dead. Or if it's a thread where you have asked a question that has gone unanswered, then you may bump it once, but only once. Breaking this rule will result in an immediate infraction for it will be theated as spam.

TailedFox forums is an English board forum and you are obligated to speak English everywhere on the board except in this thread.

Moreover, we advise you to use correct English, please do not type in chat or 1337 (Leet), we're not strict on correcting spelling or grammar, but make it easily readable.

Furthermore, even if you see another member making spelling errors please don't be a grammar nazi for every small mistake.

Its important for you to make clear what the thread is about, and not use a misleading title.

Example: I want a thread for the different bijuu's...but I dont entitle it "Creatures of Naruto's World"

It should be precise and simple like "All Ten Bijuu's" or "The Bijuu's" or "The Bijuu's and their Jinchuriki's" or "Tailed Beasts"

Example: Giving for name a totally different thing is forbidden. Simple as that.
Dont entitle your thread as "Naruto Shippuden Music" if you're talking of " Bleach Funny Pictures"

People, usually, if they can't find a thread manually, use the search option, so its quite important for the threads to have clear and precise titles. Also, to save time for people, so they can find what they're looking for faster.

In the case of the first example depending on the continuity of this practice, this might end up on the member getting a warning and if continued, an infraction. Second case is quite different and will result in a warning, if continued will be given an infraction.

Ok, people. First things first, having more rep doesn't make you cooler. Don't beg for it, don't rep others in hope of gaining some rep points back, don't rep others over trivial things or in spam sections.

When to give reputation points:
Reputation posts are meant for people who make a big contribution to the site, example for a suggestion thread that gave the idea for a big change in the site. It should be used in significant posts, like in the theories part of the manga sub-forum; someone worked hard in a theory, posted evidence and constructed a well based theory and you loved it. Then rep said person.

Trust me we will know if you have abused of this feature. This is the icon for the rep Click the image to open in full size. and is located on the top right side of the posts in the Naruto 2.0 skin and at the bottom left in the Naruto and Default skins.

Bad usage of the rep system will end in a warning, if continued will be given an infraction.

When to give your thanks: The thank you button is there for minor relevance help posts; more precisely is for helping a member as an individual. Someone posted a tutorial and you learned how to do something in the forum or for your personal use, express your thanks. Someone made for you a graphic [avatar, signature, etc] express your thanks. If you had an important question or had any problem and someone helped you clear it out, give your thanks.

This is the thanks button: Click the image to open in full size. and its located at the bottom of each post.

The difference between the two: Rep points are to recognize and thank a person for helping the site. Thanks are for people who helped you as an individual.

How you cross the line between discussing and arguing?
Simple, when you discuss an idea or your point of view over a certain situation or topic, you let the other express his/her point, respect said point, consider it, if you don't agree, then give a valid objection. When you start dissing the other person, saying his idea is stupid, that he shouldn't make a comment, not only you are flaming but are not giving a basis to your accusation. It stopped being a debate of ideas to become a fight between mindless parrots. Bickering in threads wont be tolerated.

Breaking this rule will immediately result into an infraction and if continued, a 24 hour ban.

All the infractions that you receive are worth 1 point, some points expire but some don’t. Here is a list:
Advertising: Never
Flaming and Trolling: 6 months
Inappropriate Language: 1 month

All of these points add up, and the consequences after every specific amount of points, you will receive bans, so be wary when you start receiving points.

This is a long list of rules and we are certain there are still things we missed, so the mods and admins hold the right to act appropriately when it is necessary. In extreme situations we reserve the right to call on extreme measures.

Hope you enjoy your time here at TailedFox Forums.

Sincerely,

Mods and Admins
