I wouldn't have even bothered entering had I been smart and bothered to look through all of the pages. -sigh- There's so many fantastic entries! Anywho, I'm still very proud of this! It's Kiba and Akamaru! I've got a jpeg of it on my deviantart, Ashenwisp, though this is a gif. Much better file quality and it's larger. It was made on Manga Studio, except for the initial sketch and final sketch, which was the basis for the lineart. Then I got it to PSP to maintain the colors. It took around eight hours. I would have put it up yesterday because that's when I finished it, but I had to leave. I'll be very happy if I place or get honorable mention! (If they do that, that is!^^)

p.s.- I can take the watermark off if needed!

It's easy enough. All you got to do is before you scan a picture, just write what your user name here is, the website, and a date. Those 3 things should dispel any concerns.

And I mean hand written. Not some mark added on after it's scanned...

Actually, you CAN fake that, b/c someone could find another arists's work here on the computer, and then print it out and scan it. Then write their name, date and etc. on it and re-scan saying it's theirs. ^^

Yeah, the funny thing is, I actually do that anyway (scan my artwork at different stages) that way I can see what I did wrong. And if I make any mistakes, I could just use the one I scanned before I made the mistake, and go from there. Heehee... -.-'

Well it depends which medium its in, for example sketches you can usually tell the difference between something that’s just been drawn and one that’s been printed off. But when it comes to paint and things like that done on the computer, then it wouldn’t take much to copy n manipulate a picture.

As for the scanning thing, or something to show the different stages, that would be the best solution. Either way its too late to be debating these things and we’ll have to just trust each other unless its proven otherwise.
Maybe this is something to take into consideration for the next contest?

I just want to say this because its much easier. Hand drawing is
probably the best and lesser mistrust of being accused of taking
someone else's artwork. Its really hard to tell sometimes...oh wells,
i hope everyone is being honest of their work, the point is to show
your skills not someone elses...Goodluck only few days left...

Man I really wish I would have spent more time on mine. Oh well maybe next time. 2 in a row seemed unlikely anyway :P I think that the next contest should either be a two parter or separate and here's the explanation:
Either A. pick a topic and have separate (prizes/submissions) for hand drawn artwork and computer generated (yea it may originally be hand drawn but it has been colored/edited with Photoshop, Corel, Paint ..whatever)
or B. Just do computer generated/edited only or hand drawn only (pencil, pen, charcoal.. NO TABLETS)

It's just so unfair to people like me who are really good at hand drawing with pencils but suck (or don't own) at Photoshop. Hell, I am a premed student and Photoshop is the hardest thing I've ever tried to learn! I'm sure there are plenty of others like me who can't afford tablets or Photoshop software (poor college student here!)

Not that I really care about winning, but Photoshoped artwork 'looks' so much better than hand drawn.
Anyone agree? I am really not trying to start anything or flame, I'm just trying to make a point. No hard feelings!
