Ok so I'm developing an RPG and have gotten a basic plot together after thinking it over for awhile and I'm looking for comments suggestions and heck even questions about the game.

Year 2057 the people of Earth have been hit by an asteroid, many lives were taken at the time of the tragic event. Countries have been forced to peace to share money and recourses to rebuild their once great planet. Over 1 Million adding: of the world's population have have moved to a newly discovered planet that resembled earth in many ways, the people of the newly developed planet have made there very own government that grows strong. But these people wouldn't stay safe for long, 5 years after the asteroid hit earth they have finally rebuilt earth. The newly designed planet is now a war base that is bent on destroying the new planet that now has over 1 billion (adding) people living on it. The earth's forces believe that it the humans that moved should return to earth because its where they should be. The people of the new planet have refused there offer because they disaprove of the repair of Earth. The people think that it was the races punishment for the humans greed. After another year the new planet was finally named Zeta. Zeta has highly advanced tecnology that benefits everyone. Their army is growing strong and so is the government. the earth forces didn't like that Zeta was so advanced and decided to wage war on the peaceful planet, Zeta was forced to fight to protect the people that wished for peace. The war between earth and Zeta has been going on for 20 years straight now.

The year is now 2083 the earth forces have destroyed many nations of Zeta with their high power mobile suits that were developed for the rebellion of Zeta. Zeta also contains these mobile suits that they developed to counterattack the Earth forces military. A new soldier has entered the battle field in hopes of stopping the war once in for all but will one person be able to settle things between both planets? you decide Zeta's and Earth's fate.

Its a pretty basic plot since its really only the skeleton right now. Its not near finished but its basicly about the main character being a rebal against the war. (Some ideas came from Gundam which may be obvious)

That's a good story, though get rid of the problem of having "there" instead of "their"... Also spell Earth with a capital E, it's a significant place in your plotline.

I'm quite interested though, I'll see how this goes when in depth with the story

I'm curious, is this an RP for a forum or is it and idea for an actual video game?

If it's an actual game, from what I've seen, there haven't been that many mecha based RPGs and those that I have seen usually kinda suck... So you've got an open market basically.

It does have potential if it's done right though.

If you read, it's a game, and yes, no matter how good a storyline, messing up the gameplay and how the game is presented would probably ruin. I for one am picky on gameplay

I'm a hardcore rpg player, I'll try my best to make sure that the gameplay is good. Thanks for fixing some of the errors also, it was a draft so it needed that lol.

Well establish what sort of battle system you'll be using

Wide field strategy real time (like FFXII) or turn based (like Fire Emblem)?
Or the battle system like Tales of Symphonia?

I think you should have a battle system that's similar to Tales of Symphonia, it fits the setting fairly well.

Also you'll have to have beta testers too...

Yes its more turn based since what I use has it built in I'd have to have good scripters to change the battle system and I'm not good with scripting yet. I will get people to test it for bugs and errors when its complete but I still need to get everything in order before I start since I'm already in progress of making another aswell.

Well what sort of turn based?... there's the random battles FF style, or is it something like chess?
