Claymore is based on a shounen manga by Yagi Norihiro serialised in Monthly Shounen Jump.

The setting of the story is a fictional world of abundant towns where humans coexist with demons called Yoma. These monsters feed on humans as their main source of food, hiding themselves in human society until they strike. A group from the secret society Claymore vows arise to protect humans that's when the main character comes in while slowly losing himself...

Would like to quickly edit the rating of the anime to maybe a borderline PG-13 to R so if you do not want to handle any blood shed or decapitation this anime won't be for you.

Talking Claymore Anime series reviewed (4/4/08)
Claymore revolves around the character Clare and her hunt in Yomas (demon monsters) within the anime. If you enjoy animes with girls in warrior type outfits fighting with cool looking swords against monsters this is the anime for you.

Tons of girls fighting, tons of action and quite a bit of gore with decapitation. If you dislike gore or prefer not seeing gore, this anime is not for you. If you are looking for a quick anime to watch, Claymore is a great one to check out since it's got only a total of 26 episodes.

From what I have seen and researched, it does seem like the anime derailed from the original manga starting from episode 20 forth. Personally I disliked the ending. Horribly made in my opinion. Never the less, it's still an enjoyable anime to check out. I rank Claymore an overall score of B.

Great anime, bad ending like mastaz said. It felt rushed and their wasn't any real closure to it either.

anyways, claymore is the name of these yoma demons that slay fully-developed yomas


EDIT: and yes, i also recommend this anime...good action

and the ending felt like theres gonna be a new season, but probably not...
